Using an eSIM in France
For France, first check whether your existing mobile plan already includes enough EU roaming data. If it does, a second package may add little for a short visit. A travel eSIM is useful when you need a separate allowance, your home roaming is unsuitable or the package better fits a longer route.

Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Free Mobile operate the main networks in mainland France. Check which one the selected eSIM uses. A provider’s general network list is not enough to establish the access included with a particular package.
Use coverage information for your itinerary: Paris or Lyon, a drive through rural areas and an Alpine stay each need a different check. France’s regulator publishes map-based coverage and service-quality information, including transport routes. These distinctions matter if you expect to work on a train or use data throughout a drive.
